There once was a girl from Nantucket… JUST KIDDING!

No, but seriously, I’m Kylie, founder of The ACK Sack, and I wanted to share a little bit about me and how this all began.

A few summers ago, I carried a grocery bag printed with Hermes’ oh-so-impossible-to-get, Birkin, and it got me thinking; why not create the same concept, but with a Nantucket Lightship Basket printed across all sides of a bag too!

Thus The ACK Sack was born; a playful, heartfelt interpretation of the beloved Nantucket basket printed on an everyday tote. A true celebration of the island's craft, meant for everyday wear.

My family has been going to Nantucket since 1991, and so many of my favorite memories live there. Chilly Thanksgivings in Pocomo, off-roading through Madaket Moors, and stargazing at Altar Rock on summer nights to name a few. And although life has taken me many places, every road, ferry, and Cape Air flight somehow always lead me back to the island.

Before starting The ACK Sack, I spent over a decade working in luxury fashion, where I fell deeply in love with vintage treasures and timeless design. I am now forever drawn to things that are wonderfully kitschy, slightly imperfect, and have lived many lives before finding their way to me. This brand is true a reflection of all these things: Nantucket, fashion, and objects with stories to tell. 

In a world that moves so quickly, The ACK Sack is my small way of celebrating old-world charm with a fresh perspective: something practical, joyful (maybe even a little tongue-in-cheek), while still honoring the beauty and tradition that inspired it all in the first place.
